Review - Reality by MW Brown

Reality By: MW Brown Horror Published: October 3, 2020 Print Length: 241 pages The (innocent) ad: Writers, would you like to inject reality into your work? Have you experienced something out of the ordinary? Anything from eating cockroaches to a near death event. Would you like to share your experiences with other authors who can use your actual sensations to enhance their stories? Join our group of writers seeking people who have directly been involved in unusual events or activities. Ask questions and receive genuine first-hand accounts.

The (innocent?) questions: How does it feel to have a close brush with death? How does it feel to discover your pet has been slaughtered? How does it feel to be kidnapped? What does human flesh actually taste like? How does it feel to discover someone living in your attic spying on you? How long do you have to torture someone until they confess? What does it feel like to kill someone?

When Clara started her online group, Reality, she thought she had cracked a way of injecting more realism into her writing. Facts were easy to research on the internet but she wanted to find out how people really felt, every single sensation. Her new group took off in ways she could never have imagined. Post a question. Get a genuine response. Simple, right? But sometimes people can be too helpful... Reality - a place where an innocent question can lead to murder.

I was super excited to find out that Mia was working on this book. Her last horror/thriller I read was Portraits in Flesh which was fantastic. As you can imagine I could not wait for Reality to release. It's the same genre so I had a feeling I was in for a real treat with this one! Reality takes you on a crazy ride of real life scenarios. The what ifs and situations that we often face every day and never think twice about really adds to the intensity of this book. Brown immediately starts things off strong and edgy. I love when an author can grab my attention immediately! It's even better when they can hold it throughout the whole book. No slow points here! I absolutely loved the concept of this book.

Brown always has a way with words and once again she had me flying through this book. She will have you thinking you know how all of this is going to play out and then BOOM here come the twists. The ending was a definite shocker! In my opinion Brown is known for some great and surprising endings.

If you have not had the pleasure of reading Brown's work, you really should! She is fantastic at creating chilling and twisty books and has quickly become one of my favorites in the indie horror community. Indie Book Addict Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The paperback is available now. The eBook is on preorder and will release December 6th. Get your copy here:

About the Author

Author MW Brown

The international bestselling author longs to lure you into her dark, twisted imagination, lock the door and wait for you to scream. Her love of all things supernatural and terrifying started at an early age. That love exploded when she discovered Steven King, Clive Barker, and Shirley Jackson. She devoured ghost stories, horror films, and dabbled in writing her own. Brown studied mathematics and psychology at university because there wasn't a course in horror and found numbers and people can be just as terrifying. But it took her decades in finance to follow her true passion and realize her macabre imagination needed an outlet. Brown has penned Portraits in Flesh, The Lingering Taste of Salted Chocolate, Reality, and co-written The Broken Mirror Series, as well as over a dozen short stories.
