Review - Yellow by Aron Beauregard

Yellow By Aron Beauregard Horror Publication date ‏ : ‎ January 1, 2021 Print length ‏ : ‎ 136 pages Oliver Fitch has a troubling issue; he lives in a state of constant terror. After purchasing a convenience store in a once civil society, the streets around him have rapidly devolved into utter lawlessness. They're now festering with sinister gutter scum that only live to harass and intimidate him. His pathetic profits are gouged under the threat of violence and there isn't a damn thing he can do about it. Because in a city with no rules, where the sun never shines, the authorities are no help. In fact, they're an equal part of the problem.

The relentless fear of confrontation is so obvious that even Oliver's wife Lydia has grown to resent his spineless existence. The absence of bravado opens the door to a horrific home invasion that leaves the miserable pair savagely maimed. From there, things only get worse until the criminal leeches have taken everything. Until there's nothing left inside but hate and the gnawing hunger for revenge. Until a switch finally flips and Oliver realizes that they all have to die.

This was my first read by Beauregard and I’m hooked! This has to be the BEST revenge story I’ve ever read. The author paints an impeccable picture of death, gore, brutality and then some! The MC Oliver takes plenty of hits in this book and when he’s had enough it shows! It was great watching Oliver take on every person that ever did him wrong. Beauregard’s descriptiveness with each victim had me feeling like I had a front row seat. As a reader I love nothing more than feeling like I am in the story even if it is gruesome. If you love extreme horror this is one to add to your reading list. It was very well written! Great character development with Oliver too. The author had me feeling bad for the guy and then rooting for him during his killing spree. I cannot wait to check out more from Beauregard. Yellow was a great introduction to his work, and I look forward to reading more of his page turning gore. Indie Book Addict Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Click the book cover to grab your copy.

About the Author

Author Aron Beauregard

Aron was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island. He's been writing horror since the 6th grade when his parents discovered a short story titled "Zombie Child" wedged in the back pocket of his dirty acid-washed jeans. It was about a teenager who couldn't score the girl of his dreams in life so he decided to kill her and impregnate her corpse... You can imagine where it goes from there. Needless to say, his parents were not thrilled by this tale and rather than acknowledging his creative genius suspected he might be a budding serial killer.

Regardless of what he did in his life, horror always followed him. After pursuing careers (which ultimately failed) in music, filmmaking, and full-time drug use, he eventually circled back to his bloody bread and butter: writing highly disturbing and bizarre material that tends to explore the human potential for evil. After tooling around for decades, he's finally started publishing his work (to the applause of a handful of deranged perverts).

He also contributes to the Evil Examined Podcast where he explores the most strange and horrifying events in the history of humanity with his lady and friends. He emits a Manson-esque charm through the pathetic platform, peddling his works of smut and violence to any goon willing to listen. When you enter his realm, be prepared to embrace the ugly and FEEL THE SPLATTER! Stay up to date with the latest on Aron's work. Amazon | Instagram
